🧾 About the Role
The Clinical Health Network for Transformation (CHN), a national partnership supporting Planned Parenthood affiliates, is seeking a Credit Specialist to investigate, resolve, and process credit balances and overpayments across patient accounts. If you’re detail-driven, contract-savvy, and mission-aligned, this role allows you to play a direct role in advancing equity in healthcare finance from home.
✅ Position Highlights
• $19.40–$29.10/hour (based on experience and qualifications)

📋 What You’ll Own
• Analyze and resolve payer/patient credit balances
• Research EOBs, adjustments, and billing activity to determine refund or recoupment needs
• Prepare and submit refund requests, resolve payment misapplications, and ensure full documentation in EPIC
• Notify payers to initiate recoupment/takeback and provide supporting documentation
• Track and manage work queues to ensure timely credit balance resolutions
• Collaborate with Revenue Cycle team to improve workflows and compliance
• Reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies, and maintain audit-ready records
• Uphold CHN’s policies, HIPAA standards, and commitment to health equity
🎯 Must-Have Traits
• 2+ years of accounts receivable, credit balance, or payer relations experience
• Strong grasp of coordination of benefits and insurance contract terms
• Ability to analyze account activity and payment accuracy
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and cloud-based practice management tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented, organized, and calm under pressure
• Alignment with Planned Parenthood’s values and CHN’s racial equity mission
⭐ Preferred Experience
• EPIC, eCW, NextGen, or similar system experience
• Medical Billing & Coding certification
• Travel flexibility if occasionally needed
• Demonstrated initiative to contribute to continuous improvement
