Canonical is hiring a UX Designer to join its Infrastructure Design team. You’ll help shape user experience across groundbreaking tools like MAAS, LXD, MicroCloud, and Kubernetes-based systems—powering cloud infrastructure across the globe. You’ll work with passionate engineers and product teams to turn technically complex systems into intuitive experiences.

📋 What You’ll Own
• Lead UX design for infrastructure products like MAAS and MicroCloud
• Translate technical complexity into clean, usable interfaces
• Advocate for design systems and user-centered thinking
• Collaborate across teams to create self-sovereign cloud experiences
• Apply user research, prototyping, and heuristics to guide product vision
• Participate in working groups to advance horizontal design goals
🎯 Must-Have Traits & Experience
• Strong academic background or compelling self-taught story
• Degree in UX, Design, STEM, or equivalent
• Proven experience in UX for complex systems or infrastructure tools
• Passion for building things—especially those involving real hardware
• Confident in user research, wireframing, and iterative design
• Technically curious, flexible, and always learning
• Comfortable presenting to engineers, executives, and cross-functional teams
• Able to travel internationally up to 2 times a year for company events
