  • Works assigned A/R with focus on 60+ day buckets and consistent follow-up expectations

What You’ll Do

  • Work and maintain assigned accounts receivable, focusing on 60+ day aging categories
  • Review EOBs within a two-week turnaround and take action to resolve underpayments/denials
  • Document accurate collection activity in collection tracking notes and maintain collection logs
  • Prioritize collection actions (letters, calls, internal coordination) based on account status
  • Contact insurance carriers regarding outstanding balances and re-file claims when needed
  • Counsel patients on outstanding self-pay balances and respond to inbound inquiries promptly
  • Prepare write-off/adjustment forms with proper supporting documentation for supervisor review
  • Create daily user reports for supervisor review with notes and supporting documentation
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather information needed to resolve accounts
  • Maintain working knowledge of HCPCS/ICD/CPT oncology coding and payer-specific requirements

What You Need

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • 3+ years of medical collections experience (oncology setting preferred)
  • Strong understanding of insurance reimbursement processes and regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid
  • Familiarity with radiation oncology/proton therapy (plus)
  • Detailed knowledge of billing workflows and HCPCS/CPT/ICD codes
  • Strong organization, multitasking, attention to detail, and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, professionalism, and customer service approach
  • Comfort negotiating, problem-solving, and escalating unusual accounts appropriately
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and billing/medical information systems
