Inbound calls, some outbound calls. Working in EPIC all day every day. Working in insurance verification systems. Reviewing EOBs

This position is responsible for receiving and initiating calls with patients to collect payments and settle accounts. Follows-up on accounts, receives and processes payments, and updates incomplete and missing account information. Collaborates with patients to create payment arrangements and counsels’ patients on financial assistance programs.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (8:00am – 4:30pm CST, Monday – Thursday and 7:30am – 4:00pm CST, Fridays). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 2925 Chicago Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55407.

We offer 6 weeks of paid training. The hours of the training will be during our normal business hours.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the resolution of unpaid accounts.
  • Receives and resolves calls from patients, insurance companies, attorneys, and departments.
  • Obtains and processes payments.
  • Collaborates with patients to create payment arrangements.
  • Updates incomplete and missing account information.
  • Documents collection activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 1+ years of EPIC or similar EMR systems
  • 1+ years experience working in medical/healthcare collections
  • Ability to travel to 2925 Chicago Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55407 to pick up equipment on day one.
  • Ability to work Monday- Thursday, 8:00am – 4:30pm CST and Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EPIC experience

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within Minnesota or Wisconsin
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
