We work directly with employees throughout the U.S. providing customized benefit communication and administrative services and support to our clients HR Department and their individual employees.
The Benefit Communication Specialist (BCS) is responsible for providing high level service by following schedule adherence to ensure that appropriate service levels are provided to the clients employees. The BCS is responsible to communicating via telephone or in-person to conduct and track individual personalized benefit review sessions and properly educate employees on all core and voluntary benefit insurance products. The BCS will ensure that each employee has a comprehensive understanding of the benefit options available.
Client: This position will support Emory Healthcare telephonically working remotely. Must live in the Atlanta Metro area to be considered.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Uses provided census data and reports to conduct benefit reviews telephonically or in person reaching out to newly hired and existing employees to conduct one-on-one benefit review sessions. Counseling employees on their core and voluntary benefit options, following strict compliance practices, state licensure requirements, and company quality assurance regarding benefit enrollments.
- Creates an environment to evaluate and counsel employees about their core and voluntary benefit options and coverages. Accepts inbound service calls and appointments from employees regarding benefit plans and enrollment. Also, conducts outbound service calls to follow up and address employee questions. Follows schedule to effectively manage time to meet employee availability and business needs.
- Accurately inputs and captures employee enrollment decisions, using appropriate system platforms or paper application process, following Life and Health licensure regulations and BCInsourcings quality assurance.
- Creates and maintains a professional environment by promptly coordinating with supervisor and other appropriate parties when recognizing an accelerated issue or unusual matter to ensure it is resolved thoroughly and accurately.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the clients annual open enrollment process for new and/or existing employees. Schedule adherence may fluctuate during such times in order to meet the needs of the client, including extended work hours, evenings, and weekends. May be requested to travel to client sites just for open enrollment periods or special projects.
- Obtains and maintains an active Life, Health and Accident Insurance Producers License including timely continuing education and meets other licensing requirements and documentation, as directed by BCInsourcings Licensing Specialist. Promptly notifies BCInsourcings Licensing Specialist of any information or situation which may impact
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent
- Obtain a Life, Health and Accident Insurance Producers License upon hire, and meet state-specific eligible for appointment to appropriate insurance carriers within timeframe established by BCInsourcing
- Must have and maintain a valid drivers license to travel to client sites for OE or special projects
- Clear interpersonal telephonic communication skills
- Professional work experience demonstrating self-motivation and result-driven outcomes
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Advanced degree completed or in process
- Working knowledge of insurance products, including core and voluntary benefits
- Existing active Life, Health and Accident Insurance Producers License at time of hire
- Bilingual Skills : English and second-language fluency, verbal and written, when a client workplace requirement
