CleanChoice Energy seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented Billing Analyst to monitor transactions related to the billing and payment of community solar customers. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person, to help build a different kind of energy company one that believes in renewable energy and shares the values of our customers. Key accountabilities include investigating anomalies in customer switching and communicating with utilities to resolve errors.
Job Description
The Billing Analyst will be responsible for investigating anomalies in bills created and sent, and communicating with utilities and vendors to resolve billing and payment errors. This position reports to the Billing Manager and has no direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Investigate errors in exceptions reports and follow-up on outstanding problems with utilities.
- Develop and implement process improvements related to regulatory changes.
- Process community solar billing for all active projects through credit file creation, bill run production, and exceptions management.
- Collaborate with the Customer Care Team to provide additional analysis for customer bills and help resolve customer billing concerns.
- Assist with the research and documentation of billing and payment processes and support the creation of training materials.
- Monitor the accuracy of check payments on a day to day basis and resolve any exceptions.
- Develop a relationship with the utilities through research into their standard practices for community solar and communication on the monthly files.
- Develop ad hoc reports for Client Relations on an as needed basis such as utility statements, monthly owners reports, etc.
- Manage billing calendar and communicate updates and first time bill customers to the print vendor.
- There may be other billing functionality at times based on the needs of the team as dictated by the billing manager.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor s degree
- 2 years of experience working as a Billing Analyst
- Experience with billing systems e.g., Microsoft 365, oracle, Zuora or other ERP system
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Highly organized, meticulous, and superior attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with multiple departments including Data, Marketing, and Finance
- Experience with working from home
- Experience in community solar markets a plus
Travel
- 100% remote
