About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Billing Manager to build and lead our billing operations. This new role reports to the Controller and partners closely with Sales and Engineering. You’ll own day-to-day billing processes, manage our enterprise-grade SaaS billing platform (Zuora), and design best-in-class systems to support a growing, cloud-based subscription business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize our Zuora billing solution, including new product and pricing setup
  • Ensure accurate, timely invoicing and daily cash postings
  • Collaborate with Sales and Engineering to review contracts and ensure proper billing setup
  • Resolve customer and internal billing inquiries, discrepancies, and escalations
  • Lead month-end close activities related to AR and revenue recognition
  • Support sales tax reporting, reconciliations, and annual financial audits
  • Improve billing processes and strengthen internal controls
  • Mentor and guide members of the billing team
  • Handle sensitive financial and personal data in compliance with HIPAA

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of Zuora or equivalent SaaS billing platform (implementation/management experience required)
  • 5+ years billing experience in a SaaS or subscription-based environment
  • 3+ years financial operations experience (GL, journal entries, AR) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and GAAP principles a plus
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or CPQ tools
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Proven record of improving processes and handling complex billing transactions
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Startup/high-growth experience strongly preferred
