This position is Remote.

The salary range estimated for this position is $23.87/hr – $36.45/hr.

Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.

Discover Impactful Work:

The Chemical Procurement Specialist role, supporting GFO customer sites, is dedicated to ensuring chemical compliance, optimizing chemical inventory, and making the Researcher’s chemical experience safe, efficient and more productive.

A Day in the Life:

Follow business processes for order fulfillment and procurement using chemical procurement system in compliance with sourcing requirements
Ensure adherence to control zone/fire code thresholds
Track inventory to ensure material redundancy is reduced and inventories are kept to an appropriate minimum
Ensure all materials and quantities received are aligned with federal, state and local laws and permit requirements
Respond to day-to-day Researcher inquiries related to regulatory matters
Support the Quality Management System by:
Development, maintenance and full adherence to departmental work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOP’s) in fulfillment of the requirements of our Quality Management System and the expectations of our interested parties (internal / external).
Identify and report quality or compliance concerns to management and the quality function and take immediate actions to remedy.
Complete all planned or unplanned quality & compliance training requirements within defined timeframe
Keys to Success:
Education:

AS degree in relevant field such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or equivalent work experience preferred. BS or other advanced degrees a plus!
Experience:

2 years of relevant work experience within Chemical Product Stewardship and/or Product Regulatory responsibilities preferred.
Experience with procurement and/or inventory management systems.
Self-motivated with strong organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Experience in reading, understanding, and interpreting chemical safety information for the safe use, handling and storage of chemicals in an R&D environment.
Proven excellence in verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to make timely decisions while functioning in a fast-paced work environment.
Must deliver excellent customer service to include maintaining a professional appearance at all times.
May be required to work independently within customer location, including areas where chemical-based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc).
Must be able to work hours required to get the job done.
