JOB SUMMARY

The Destination Travel Network (DTN) Client Engagement Specialist is a dynamic and results-oriented sales professional responsible for engaging and retaining current clients as well as collecting payments on past-due balances.

The Client Engagement Specialist should be able to demonstrate highly developed negotiation skills, the ability to work independently and have a comprehensive understanding of online advertising and other forms of digital marketing. The Client Engagement Specialist will work closely with the DTN Director of Sales to identify past-due accounts and develop strategies to collect delinquent accounts. Additionally, this position will be responsible to engage inbound client cancellation requests and work with the client to identify creative solutions to continue their advertising program.

THIS TEAM MEMBER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Meet or exceed aggressive client retention and collection goals that support the overall department and company objectives.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of inbound and outbound client calls, emails, and other formats of client engagement and communication.
  • Proactively monitor unpaid invoices and collect payments on past-due accounts.
  • Retain and upsell current clients.
  • Ability to clearly communicate the benefits of advertising on the DMO website and develop creative strategies that align the client’s goals with our department and company goals.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional sales experience; preferably experience in the digital marketing industry
  • Experience collecting bad debt and/or managing distressed clients.
  • Mastery of all stages of the sales cycle including prospecting, presenting, negotiating, and closing sales.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to clients who are not as technically inclined.
  • Good at building long-term and substantive relationships with local advertisers, agencies, and national clients.
  • Basic knowledge of digital advertising metrics, pricing, and optimization.
  • Proficient in Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc.)

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED EXPERIENCES

  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of the critical role technology plays in today s business environment and the ways it impacts local businesses and their communities
  • Has worked in Salesforce CRM or another enterprise CRM platform
  • Experience selling in a variety of environments (in-person, cold calling, email marketing, etc.)

PERFORMANCE METRICS

  • Total of past due payments collected
  • Number of clients retained
  • The total amount of renewal upsell for retained clients

COMPENSATION + BENEFITS

  • Base salary: $35,000
  • Commissions:
    • Collections
      • 10% of all past due payments collected
    • Saves
      • $500 for each saved contract greater than $6,000 in TCV
      • $225 for each saved contract between $2,500 and $5,999 in TCV
      • $100 for each saved contract less than or equal to $2,499 in TCV
    • Renewals
      • 10% of all renewal upsells
      • 3% on renewal base (does not apply if the client continues on a month-to-month basis or stays within their original or current contract term)

This position is available for remote working.
