Purpose:

This is a general entry level position.

Full-time, remote position, acts as a patient advocate on behalf of REVECORE.

Represents REVECORE by interacting with patients at client facility (BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER) and soon after their discharge. Identifies and assigns REVECORE accounts and collects all pertinent information for these accounts before sending to REVECORE, while simultaneously building rapport with the patient to enhance the patient experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interacts with patients by screening over the phone to obtain insurance info and accident details for patients injured in accidents.
  • Explains Coordination of Benefits (COB) to patients to educate patient on all forms of insurance coverage available to help with their medical bills
  • Monitors live ED tracking board for patients that quality for REVECORE screenings based on client’s service line (ex: Motor Vehicle Accidents, Worker’s Comp)
  • Reviews daily census reports to determine patients that have discharged in order to conduct phone screenings
  • Reviews daily census reports to determine patients that are currently in-house (admitted) in order to conduct face-to-face screenings
  • Contacts auto insurance carriers to open MP/PIP claims on the patient’s behalf
  • Interacts in a professional manner with all levels of hospital management, ED staff and other vendor representatives to build relationships
  • Other duties as assigned by REVECORE
  • Maintain confidential information, whether verbal, written or electronic, which I will learn in the course of my work at REVECORE.
  • Will not access or attempt to access confidential data that is unrelated to my job duties in the course of my work at REVECORE.
  • Will not disclose Protected Health Information (PHI) in violation of law.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Ability to explain or ability to learn how to explain coordination of benefits to patients
  • EPIC Billing knowledge is a MUST.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Proven ability to speak one-on-one with patients, using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to explain what is required and obtain information.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Skilled at organizing, prioritizing, and adapting according to situational demands
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Products (Excel, Word)

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Typing skills 35 wpm or greater preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of patient interaction experience (clinical, doctor’s office, etc.) strongly preferred
  • Coordination of benefits (COB) experience preferred
  • Patient access/registration experience in ER setting preferred strongly preferred
  • Property/Casualty insurance experience preferred
