What You’ll Do
- Maintain and build constructive working relationships with clients over time
- Communicate with clients by phone to provide or obtain information, including account status updates and consumer contact details tied to debt collection work
- Respond to client inquiries within the same business day whenever possible
- Document client interactions, including inquiries, complaints, comments, and actions taken in the system
- Verify that appropriate changes were made to resolve client concerns
- Route unresolved inquiries to the correct department for further review
- Process itemized bill requests and use WebNow to obtain/process disputes when applicable
- Notify clients of final bill requests, balance/payment verifications, disputes, and fraud/identity theft cases, then follow up on responses
- Post direct payments
- Access client websites as needed to assist with consumer resolutions
- Process monthly client statements with payment details and invoices and reconcile disputes
- Participate in audits, client visits, external meetings, conference calls, and summits as needed
- Keep process and procedure documentation current
- Follow compliance requirements (FDCPA, FCRA, FACTA, Regulation E, HIPAA, TCPA) and company policies
What You Need
- Collections or call center experience (preferred)
- Ability to represent the organization professionally to clients
- Strong customer service knowledge and communication skills
- Ability to multitask across multiple internal and external systems
- Team-first mindset and ability to work well with peers and leadership
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to change
