Schedule
- Full-time position
- Must reside within 100 miles of Velera’s Texas headquarters
- 45 days of onsite training at the TX office, then transition to fully remote work
- Evening and weekend work may be required depending on portfolio needs
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of charged-off accounts to resolve delinquencies
- Use skip tracing and collection strategies to locate consumers and negotiate payments
- Establish payment arrangements within company guidelines
- Make outbound calls and handle inbound calls to discuss account resolution
- Document all activity accurately and efficiently
- Assist other collectors with “second voice” calls as needed
- Recommend account closure or further action based on results
- Maintain compliance with FDCPA and other applicable regulations
- Participate in monthly continuous improvement training sessions
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of collections or sales experience preferred
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle difficult conversations
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and meet performance goals
- Knowledge of FDCPA regulations preferred
