Schedule
- Remote (must live in one of these states: AL, AZ, AR, DE, FL, GA, ID, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MS, MO, MT, NE, NH, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WV, WI, WY)
- Regular hours: 10:00am–7:00pm EST, Monday–Friday
- Occasional Saturday hours required
- Training: 8:00am–5:00pm EST for the first five weeks
What You’ll Do
- Contact borrowers by phone and in writing to understand causes of delinquency
- Help develop repayment plans and arrangements to reinstate obligations
- Recommend appropriate next steps when circumstances may jeopardize the credit union’s interest
- Cross-sell credit union products and services when appropriate
- Document and communicate recommendations to your supervisor clearly and accurately
What You Need
- High school diploma or GED (Associate degree preferred)
- 2+ years of collections experience
- 2+ years of direct customer service/sales experience
- Bilingual Spanish required (read, write, speak, and type in English and Spanish)
- Knowledge of debtor/creditor collection law, FDCPA, and Florida consumer debt collection statutes (bankruptcy familiarity is a plus)
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and phone communication skills
- Comfort using automated collections software (predictive dialer experience is a plus)
- Ability to sit for extended periods and work a primarily sedentary, headset-and-computer role
