Description
The successful Travel Advisor is responsible for all aspects of trip booking and management of vacations for one of our luxury corporate accounts. This position requires someone who is highly organized, has excellent communication skills and has experience in a direct selling environment and in proactive customer development. As a valuable member of our advisor team, you will be a key player in growing repeat sales and supporting marketing initiatives. This includes qualifying customers to determine what destinations, modes of travel, travel dates and accommodations and booking and issuing domestic and international airline itineraries, hotel reservations, car and train reservations through the Sabre GDS and other web based partner programs.
Major Responsibilities and Activities:
- Answer calls and emails promptly from clients who are requesting new travel arrangements or changes to existing itineraries and provide prompt customer service.
- Book and issue airline, hotel, car and other tour reservations through Sabre GDS system, accurately and efficiently.
- Establish and maintain high level knowledge of destinations and travel options
- Provide excellent customer service for luxury corporate clients calling/emailing for assistance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent organization and time management skills with superior attention to detail and strong communication skills
- Works well in a team environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Successful sales experience preferred
- GDS proficiency (Sabre) is a plus
- Client Base CRM
- International independent and travel planning experience (Northern Europe and Italy, France, England) Specific regional experience/knowledge in major European tourist destinations
- Strong customer service orientation with proven ability to establish and develop relationships
- Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma required
- Knowledge of Sabre GDS required
Physical Requirements:
This position is sedentary in nature, which requires very little to no lifting, pushing and pulling. The primary functions of this position include but are not limited to the ability to perform work utilizing a computer for extended periods of time. The ability to sit or stand for extended periods without leaving the work area is required.
