Disability and Registrar Specialist

The Disability & Registrar Specialist is responsible for communicating with potential/current students, faculty, and staff regarding DSA-related inquiries. The Specialist will assist students with their disability accommodations needs by responding to initial information requests (by email or by phone) and following up as needed throughout the students’ accommodations review process. The Specialist also provides assistance and ongoing guidance to existing DSA students, faculty, and staff regarding the implementation and use of awarded accommodations. The Specialist will support catalog and Student Handbook updates, maintain the DSA and catalog email archive folders, and assist with the monthly printing of DSA student course materials. The Specialist will provide support to the department to help streamline the DSA and catalog processes. The Disability & Registrar Specialist reports to the Director of Disability Services & Catalog Management.
Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming telephone calls and initiate outbound calls on DSA phone queue as needed.
- Respond to inbound emails and initiate outbound email correspondence as needed.
- Provide guidance to students, staff, and faculty regarding student accommodations concerns and questions.
- Assist with quarterly Catalog and Student Handbook publication updates.
- Support the monthly printing of DSA student course materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned to the DSA Office to support APUS’s initiatives and student body.
Requirements:
- Experience in higher education and customer service preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently without supervision
- Extremely detail oriented
- Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30 or 10:30 – 7:00 pm
- May require monthly travel to Charles Town, WV, to perform office tasks and to attend meetings.
