If you’re the kind of person who can turn chaos into a clean run-of-show, this is your lane. Roo needs someone to own trade shows, conferences, and continuing education programs end-to-end, keeping the brand tight and the logistics tighter.

About Roo
Roo is a veterinary staffing platform connecting veterinarians, techs, and assistants with animal hospitals for relief work and hiring. They’ve built a large network (20,000+ veterinary pros and 9,000+ hospitals) and position themselves as mission-driven, tech-forward, and focused on flexibility for animal healthcare professionals.

Schedule
Remote role with ~20% travel for off-site events
Fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment
Compensation varies by location. Posted ranges:

  • CA/NY: $68,000 – $88,000
  • WA: $60,000 – $80,000
  • CO/TX: $58,000 – $75,000
  • NC: $55,000 – $70,000

What You’ll Do

  • Plan and execute events: trade shows, conferences, and Mandatory Continuing Education (CE) programs
  • Coordinate logistics: venues, equipment, catering, on-site setup and support
  • Create and manage event materials: presentations, signage, promo items (brand-consistent)
  • Maintain an event calendar and help order/track marketing materials
  • Manage inventory of event supplies and build detailed expense logs per event
  • Support CE programs, including operational coordination and execution
  • Use digital event tools for virtual event hosting and engagement
  • Provide travel and operational support for larger-scale events

What You Need

  • 2–3 years event coordination experience (trade shows + CE events specifically)
  • Strong project management skills (juggling multiple timelines without dropping balls)
  • Excel proficiency for tracking budgets and expenses
  • Clear communication skills across internal teams, vendors, and external partners
  • Strong attention to detail: inventory, calendars, checklists, receipts, “what’s missing?” mindset
  • Creative eye and design experience for event materials
  • Comfort moving fast and adapting when plans change
  • Bonus points: animal healthcare or tech industry experience; CE program experience

Benefits
For full-time permanent employees, Roo offers:

  • Home office, continuing education, and monthly wellness stipends
  • Health benefits with base medical plan covered 100% (optional buy-up plans)
  • 401(k)
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Paid parental and reproductive care leave
  • Birthday and anniversary gifts
  • Domestic travel opportunities for team building events

My honest take (because you asked for truth): this role is great if you like logistics, travel, and being “the fixer.” But if you hate last-minute changes, vendor follow-ups, or being the person everyone pings when something breaks on-site, it will chew you up.

Happy Hunting,
