Overview

The Financial Aid Processor is responsible for the review of active student financial aid files at Universal Technical Institute.

This position involves evaluating Title IV tuition credits and loan processing duties. The ideal candidate in this role will have an above-average attention to detail, strong concern for the exact correctness of work, and strong commitment to completing tasks on time. A candidate who takes their work seriously and can work at a faster-than-average pace will be most suited for success as an Financial Aid Processor.

Responsibilities

  • This position will have the primary responsibility for calculating Title IV tuition credits and ensuring credits are processed within Federally mandated time frames.
  • This position is also responsible for ensuring that stipends are processed correctly and that the exact funds due to the student, parent or lender are processed with little to no margin for error.
  • Processing loans accurately and within service level agreements.
  • Coordinate with campuses and other departments as needed to ensure required paperwork is on file.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • High school/GED required, some college preferred
  • Minimum two years of experience in Financial Aid
  • One to two years customer service experience

Skills

  • Understanding of the timeliness of returning Federal funds
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent mathematical skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic computer software aptitude

Abilities

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 5 pounds or less 5% of the workday
  • Must be able stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 5% or less of the workday
  • Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, learn and reason for all of the workday
  • Must be able to sit and walk or otherwise move around for prolonged periods throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods throughout the workday.
