This role primarily supports TaxAct customers during tax season.

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Remote (All States)
  • Seasonal role with extended hours during peak tax season (January–April)
  • Must have (or be willing to obtain) a private, dedicated hardwired internet connection

What You’ll Do

  • Help customers identify and gather the correct tax documents needed to complete their returns
  • Answer questions about tax forms, income documents (W-2s, 1099s), deductions, and filing requirements
  • Provide clear, friendly support via phone, chat, and email during early-stage return preparation
  • Troubleshoot issues using internal tools, IRS resources, and standard procedures
  • Use your tax prep knowledge to help customers organize documents for completeness and accuracy
  • Share recurring customer questions and document challenges with leadership
  • Contribute to improvements in the internal knowledge base and support materials
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow compliance and data security standards
  • Represent TaxAct professionally and with integrity
  • Cross-train on other product lines to support additional queues as needed
  • Handle other duties as assigned

What You Need

  • Previous experience preparing individual tax returns (Form 1040), including federal and state returns
  • Valid PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number) issued by the IRS
  • Basic knowledge of tax laws and tax concepts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a high-volume environment
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Persistence and determination in resolving customer concerns
  • Ability to support a positive, collaborative work environment
  • Call center support experience (WFH or on-site) is a plus
  • Experience with TaxAct or similar tax software is preferred
  • Customer service experience in tax, accounting, or finance is preferred
