Job Summary:

The Grants Manager leads the grant’s function for KinderCare Learning Companies, focusing on maintaining and expanding grant revenue and partnerships with public early childhood education programs. The Grants Manager supervises a team of Grants Representatives and will guide and evaluate staff workflow to help the department achieve desired results. This position collaborates with multiple departments within KinderCare Learning Companies including field management, operations and various external audiences.

The Grants Manager is expected to increase revenue growth for KinderCare’s early childhood education centers through public and private grants. The position is charged with the identification and review of new and existing funding opportunities, application and narrative writing, development and maintenance of relationships with funding entities, acting as a liaison between field personnel and other internal and external groups, and with overall compliance.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Identify new grants and expansion opportunities through prospect research across 40 states.
  • Work with center management, field management, other Corporate Headquarters departments, funding entity representatives and other audiences to facilitate the application process.
  • Handle achievements and track target dates to ensure timely grant submission and reporting.
  • Lead the development of compelling and driven grant applications with input from internal business partners.
  • Ensure KinderCare is aligned with all grant, program, and regulatory requirements.
  • In collaboration with internal partners, build and maintain a grants management infrastructure, including databases and procedures.
  • Run grants related accounting with support from the Grants Coordinator and Subsidy Department.
  • Guides and evaluates staff workflow to help the department achieve desired results.

People Development & Management:

  • Provides timely performance reviews and goal setting with staff, meets regularly to ensure accountability and follow through.
  • Delivers training, career and leadership development opportunities, facilitates growth among the team.
  • Provides input on succession planning, salary actions and hiring decisions.
  • Fosters engagement and collaboration to build a strong team dedicated to delivering business and experience outcomes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Excellent communication and writing skill.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, and lead project interdependencies, and meet target dates.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of the early childhood education sector.
  • Experience writing grant proposals, narratives, and budgeting required, preferably in the education sector.
  • Previous applicable experience in an education-related organization strongly preferred.
  • Able to work well under stress in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
  • Ability to work independently and to partner with multiple collaborators to achieve desired results.
  • Strong PC skills covering general office software, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email require.
