LHH is seeking an experienced Healthcare Operations Specialist for an outstanding Healthcare organization in Portland, OR. As Healthcare Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support for the Customer Service Operations team by triaging and handling all call flow, and other administrative duties, as assigned. Responsibilities:

  • Managing high call volumes, typically ranging from 400 to 500 calls per day.
  • Handling superficial calls efficiently and swiftly, quickly assessing the nature of the inquiry and redirecting callers to the appropriate care agent for further assistance.
  • Serving as a telephone operator for the health insurance plan, answering calls and providing basic information about coverage, benefits, claims, and other related inquiries.
  • Ensuring accurate and prompt call routing, transferring calls to the relevant departments or individuals as needed.
  • Maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor during all interactions with callers, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Adhering to established protocols and guidelines for call handling and data privacy to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive patient information.
  • Documenting call details, inquiries, and actions taken in the appropriate systems or databases for future reference and tracking purposes.
  • Collaborating with the healthcare operations team to identify and escalate any recurring issues or trends observed during call interactions.
  • Participating in ongoing training programs and meetings to facilitate and/or take minutes, provide reflections and communicate minutes to the team.
  • Assisting in other administrative tasks or projects as assigned by supervisors or managers.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and/or equivalent, required.
  • 6 months of experience with high-volume calls (400-500 daily) within the Healthcare industry, required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and CPT/ICD-9,, highly preferred.
  • Experience in medical insurance, preferred.
