About Our Injury Specialist/Casualty Claims Adjuster Work from Home Position:
Elephant Insurance is looking for an associate with personal auto 1st and 3rd party injury claims knowledge to coordinate the resolution of automobile claims including physical damage and bodily injury claims with possible complex coverage and liability issues. Applicants must reside in the states of VA, TX, OH, GA, or FL.
Job Responsibilities:
- Take recorded statements from policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, police officers, passengers and other parties as needed.
- Understand and apply differences in claims handling based on the venue.
- Complete investigative research to verify coverage and resolve complex coverage issues.
- Make recommendations on claims with potential grounds for coverage denial.
- Interpret policy and State laws in order to make accurate liability and coverage decisions.
- Communicate decisions regarding coverage, liability, and damages to customers.
- Take appropriate action for the repair option selected by the customer.
- Ensure that all damages are consistent with the report of the accident.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and settle third-party injury claims with both attorney represented and unrepresented claimants.
- Work with defense counsel to handle litigated cases as needed.
- Handle first-party injury claims.
- Attend mediations or arbitrations where required.
- Evaluate claims for subrogation potential.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Work at Home Requirements:
- A dedicated workspace that is free from background noise and distractions of any kind during business hours.
- A reliable high-speed broadband Internet service provider with a connection speed of at least 5 megabytes. A speed test will be required.
- Ability for Ethernet cable to be physically connected to carrier by the router or modem.
Preferred Qualifications:
- College Degree
- Ability to build rapport quickly
- 5+ years of personal auto claims handling experience with an insurance company
- 3+ years of personal auto 3rd party injury claims handling experience with an insurance company
- Applicable Insurance Designation
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to multi-task, prioritize and organize with limited supervision
- Able to manage conflict and communicate difficult messages
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Personal auto claims litigation handling experience
