Schedule
- Remote, full-time position
- 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday
- Non-exempt role
What You’ll Do
- Submit accurate and timely claims to third-party payers
- Resolve claim edits, account errors, and rejected claims
- Follow up with payers to ensure collections and meet department goals
- Contact insurance providers to resolve unpaid claims and manage denials
- Verify claim status using payer portals and websites
- Reconcile billing account transactions for accuracy
- Process billing and follow-up transactions in a timely manner
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all federal/state billing regulations
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and employees
- Track work queue volumes, productivity, and participate in performance improvement initiatives
What You Need
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One (1) year of medical billing or office experience preferred
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding processes preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and business math helpful
- Strong computer skills with accuracy in data entry
- Excellent oral, written, and customer service communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
