Title: Military Outreach Student Support Specialist

The Military Outreach Student Support Specialist (MSSS) will work regionally to promote Kaplan’s educational offerings to the military community and provide personalized support to military students throughout their educational journey. Collaborating directly with Military Education Service Managers (ESOs) and Military influencers on bases through Oahu, Hawaii (and virtually to Guam), you will lead student acquisition efforts and represent Kaplan at various organizational events, including job fairs, newcomers briefings, and tabling events.
Primary/Key Responsibilities
- Promote key military offerings from Kaplan’s university partners, focusing on supporting military students in achieving their educational goals.
- Build strong relationships with Military Education Service Managers (ESOs) and Military influencers to advocate for Kaplan partner universities educational programs and services (all branches on the island of Oahu, and virtually for all branches on Guam).
- Lead student acquisition efforts by engaging potential military students, providing information about Kaplan’s university partner offerings, and guiding them through the SIF process.
- Attend organizational events such as job fairs, newcomers briefings, and tabling events to showcase Kaplan products and university partner educational opportunities and enhance Kaplan and university partners’ brand visibility within the military community.
- Offer personalized support to military students and their families, addressing their unique needs and challenges SIF process..
- Stay informed about military education policies, benefits, and regulations to provide accurate guidance to prospective and enrolled military students.
- Collaborate with Military Solutions leaders to acquire targeted outreach strategies and materials aimed at the military community.
- Provide consistent messaging and support for military students across all locations.
- Monitor and report on regional performance metrics, including student enrollment and satisfaction, to assess the success of outreach efforts and identify areas for improvement.
- Contribute to the development of best practices and continuous improvement of support services for military students.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field (Associate degree with enrollment into GOK considered)
- 4 years experience working with the military community and a basic understanding of military education benefits and regulations (Military spouse considered as experience).
- Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Willingness to travel regularly to military installations and events within the island of Oahu.
- Familiarity with military benefits and a passion for supporting military students in their educational journeys.
