Mortgage Loan Servicing Specialist – Remote

LHH is seeking a Mortgage Loan Servicing Specialist for a fully remote contract position!
The ideal candidate has 3+ years of mortgage experience with an emphasis on loan servicing and documentation and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update loan records in the servicing system.
- Process loan modifications, assumptions, and payoffs.
- Ensure all loan servicing activities comply with regulatory requirements.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues related to loan servicing.
- Provide information to borrowers regarding payment options, escrow accounts, and loan terms.
- Manage delinquent accounts and initiate collection activities when necessary.
- Monitor and manage escrow accounts, including tax and insurance payments.
- Conduct escrow analyses and communicate changes to borrowers.
- Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations, including RESPA, TILA, and other applicable laws.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Reconcile payment discrepancies and ensure accurate posting to borrower accounts.
- Assist borrowers facing financial difficulties by providing information on loss mitigation options.
- Process requests for forbearance, repayment plans, and loan modifications.
- Maintain accurate and organized loan files, both electronic and physical.
- Ensure proper documentation for all loan servicing activities.
- Check the daily task tracking report and assign tasks to appropriate team members.
- Open tickets for control reports.
- Review Servicing notices received from Change Management.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years mortgage experience specifically within loan servicing.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage loan products, servicing practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in loan servicing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and identify discrepancies.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
