What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain a mortgage broker client base that meets or exceeds production goals
  • Prospect and develop a strong pipeline of new broker partners
  • Create and execute territory strategies to maximize production opportunities
  • Manage pipeline activity and performance metrics as defined by the company
  • Strengthen relationships with approved accounts to increase activity, wallet share, and market share
  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies with broker partners
  • Develop production forecasts and marketing or business plans with clear, actionable steps
  • Engage broker and prospect lists through phone, email, and direct marketing
  • Track outreach, activity, and results in the CRM and maintain accurate data
  • Share best practices and mentor peers when needed
  • Collaborate closely with operations and fulfillment teams to support broker success
  • Provide market intelligence and stay current on industry trends and lending updates
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Cardinal policies, products, procedures, and technology
  • Train and support brokers on Cardinal’s proprietary platform, Octane
  • Lead group presentations via phone or video to communicate Cardinal’s value proposition
  • Deliver consistent follow-up and “world class” service to broker partners

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 1+ year of proven sales experience (mortgage experience is a plus, not required)
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Comfortable with consistent outbound activity and handling rejection
  • Excellent phone presence and ability to build rapport quickly
  • Self-starter mindset with strong accountability and work ethic
  • Flexible, innovative, and open to new processes and tools
  • Competitive drive and results orientation
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Organized, detail-aware, and able to manage a fast-moving pipeline
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
