What You’ll Do
• Underwrite Non-QM and Non-Agency loans, including bank statement income, asset depletion, DSCR no ratio, foreign national, and self-employment files
• Manage an underwriting pipeline of new loans and resubmissions, meeting standard SLAs
• Review loan files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with investor and agency guidelines
• Issue clear, concise loan decisions to sales and operations teams
• Communicate with internal teams and external partners (lenders/investors) with strong customer service
• Issue final approvals and upload required approval documentation into company systems
• Partner with Post-Closing on stipulations for closed files and communicate outcomes to leadership
What You Need
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 4+ years of mortgage underwriting experience
• Non-QM and Non-Agency underwriting experience
• Manual underwriting experience
• Strong understanding of compliance and disclosure requirements
• Advanced prioritization, time management, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Nice to have: Encompass LOS experience
