Description
Job Overview: Our food distribution company is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and manage our day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, organized and proactive individual with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the food distribution industry. The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective management of our warehouse, logistics, and customer service operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement operational procedures, policies and standards to ensure efficient and effective operations
Manage and oversee all aspects of the warehouse operations, including receiving, stocking, order processing, and shipping
Oversee the transportation and logistics operations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries
Collaborate with other departments such as sales and finance to ensure seamless communication and alignment of goals
Manage and motivate a team of employees to achieve daily targets and goals
Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food handling guidelines
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings, and implement initiatives to optimize operations
Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and vendors to ensure successful partnerships
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Minimum of 8 years of experience in food distribution operations management
Proven track record of managing and developing a team
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food handling guidelines
Proficient in Microsoft Office and warehouse management software
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
