BayCare is currently in search of our newest Team Member who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service to our community. We are looking for an individual seeking a career opportunity with one of the largest employers within the Tampa Bay area.
The Pathology Transcriptionist will work remote on a PRN basis. This team member must currently reside in Florida. Pathology experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- The Pathology Transcriptionist Specialist transcribes, edits, and interprets dictation by BayCare physicians and clinicians to provide timely release of medical information to the EMR. Assists manager/director with mentoring/training of new team members. Requires in-depth knowledge of all aspects of medical terminology, medications, anatomy and physiology necessary for accurate documentation. Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Certification & Licensure: CHDS (Certified Healthcare Documentation Specialist). Required Experience is 1-year Medical Transcription/Editing. Required Specific Skills also includes: Excellent skills in English usage, grammar, punctuation, and style; Technical skills and aptitudes related to timely and accurate transcription/editing and delivery of reports as well as minor troubleshooting of computer software and hardware used for transcription/editing; Excellent listening skills to accurately translate a variety of dialects in order to document detailed, complicated dictation; Uses an extensive array of professional reference materials as well as the Internet. Performs other duties as assigned.
