LaSalle Network is currently seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focusedPatient Access Specialistto join our clients team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing assistance with the registration and admission process, verifying insurance coverage and collecting demographic and financial information.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering outstanding service to every patient.
Patient Access Specialist Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a welcoming and professional manner, providing assistance and information as needed
- Register patients for appointments, procedures and admissions using electronic health record (EHR) systems with accuracy and efficiency
- Verify patient demographic information and insurance coverage, obtaining necessary authorizations and referrals as required
- Collect patient co-payments, deductibles and other financial obligations, explaining billing processes and payment options as needed
- Coordinate with clinical staff and other departments to ensure smooth and timely patient flow and scheduling
- Respond to patient inquiries and requests promptly and courteously, escalating issues as appropriate to ensure resolution
- Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning and data entry to support departmental operations
Patient Access Specialist Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Previous experience in healthcare administration, patient registration or customer service preferred
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families and colleagues
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor with a commitment to providing exceptional patient care
- Willingness to adhere to organizational policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality standards
