As a Patient Account Representative, you will interact with patients around their self-pay balances for a variety of medical facilities in high volume, Understand the uniqueness around each patient interaction and deliver an amazing patient experience. Patient Account Representatives handle inbound and outbound calls
Navigate client Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
Work with patients\Guarantors on securing payment to outstanding balances
Articulate options to patients\guarantors around payment plans, financial assistance and additional third-party options
Identify problems on the account and escalate appropriately
Update and verify guarantor insurance information
Update the patient account record to identify actions taken
Maintain great quality standards
Ability to learn quickly and collaborate with ideas that improve the team, processes and solutions
Communicate with team members and management in a professional manner
Attend training for EMR systems, required HIPAA awareness training, cyber security awareness training, and continuous internal training programs
Comply with all guidelines, policies, and procedures to assure sensitive or confidential information is protected in accordance with the HIPAA rules and regulations
Requirements
Excellent communication skills, specifically phone skills, that encourage the establishment and maintenance of cooperative, positive engagements
Ability to thrive and be productive in a work from home role
1+ year of prior patient account, customer service, or other experience (such as medical coding, billing, revenue cycle, patient financial services) experience preferred
High school diploma or equivalent, college courses or certificate preferred
Reliable internet connection
Accuracy with data entry
Proficient computer skills with a demonstrated ability to navigate and comprehend computer software systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
