Responsibilities

  • Review patient accounts to determine payer responsibility
  • Follow up with insurers, patients, and health systems to resolve billing issues
  • Analyze payer contracts and EOB/835 files for correct reimbursement
  • Resolve payment variances, denials, and credits
  • Update patient demographics and account notes accurately
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and data integrity
  • Meet productivity and internal quality standards
  • Escalate complex account issues when necessary

Requirements

  • 2+ years of medical billing, insurance follow-up, or related experience
  • High school diploma or GED required (Associate’s preferred)
  • Familiarity with healthcare billing software, EOBs, and medical terminology
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and PHI standards
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a distraction-free home workspace
