Description
The Patient Support Specialist provides ridiculously nice customer service to assist patients with answering basic questions, obtaining relevant information, and addressing scheduling needs over the telephone.
Requirements
- Provides daily phone coverage to place and/or receive phone calls to/from patients of AmeriEBO’s clients to assist in obtaining relevant information, scheduling appropriate services, and providing education.
- Collects demographic, insurance, and other relevant information from patients, making appropriate documentation in clients healthcare system and referring to other departments as appropriate.
- Educates patients to improve their financial well-being.
- Engages in active listening with callers, confirming or clarifying information, and diffusing upset patients as needed.
- Follows department processes and procedures to comply with industry laws and regulations.
- Refers patients and accounts to other departments as appropriate.
- Leverages feedback to optimize performance and reach professional growth and development goals.
- Establishes meaningful relationships with peers to facilitate open dialogue and trust, fostering a team environment of collaboration.
- Completes assigned training and learning plans and fulfills industry compliance requirements.
- Performs all duties above with the highest integrity and confidentiality.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1+ year(s) of experience in a customer service capacity preferred
- 1+ year(s) of experience contributing to a team culture of learning and growth preferred.
Knowledge & Training:
- Basic understanding of contact center processes and techniques preferred.
- Proficient in leveraging internal technology platforms preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite preferred
- Proficient in managing a multi-line phone system preferred.
- Ability to type minimum 45 words per minute.
