Job Description:
Location: Remote
Shift: 9:30 AM to 6 PM (CST/PST) 10:30 AM to 7 PM (MST/EST)
The Referral Services Assistant is responsible for providing support to clinical team to facilitate the administrative components of clinical referrals for case management or disease management services to include home health, nutritional counseling, etc.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Outbound calls to medical doctor’s offices to deliver determination of case reviews.
- Responding to inbound calls for Peer-to-Peer scheduling between the medical doctor’s offices and our AIM Physician Reviewers.
- Making outbound calls for connection of Peer-to-Peer appointments between the medical doctor’s offices and our AIM Physician Reviewers.
- Responding to inbound calls regarding provider portal technical issues.
- Handles emails and faxes pertaining to existing cases following established processes, meets quality and production standards.
- Acts as a liaison between hospital, health plans, physicians, patients, vendors and other referral sources.
- Handles escalated referrals from leadership as appropriate.
- Contacts physician offices to obtain demographic information or related data.
- Enters referrals and documents communications in system.
Requirements:
- Requires a High School Diploma
- 1 year of experience in a healthcare environment
- Any combination of education and/or experience which would provide an equivalent background
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Healthcare experience
- Experience multi-tasking on the job by navigating multiple computer applications
- Experience performing internet research to complete work tasks utilizing browsers such as Internet Explorer, FireFox, and Chrome.
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools on the job, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
