Location/Division Specific Information
Our Materials and Structural Analysis business helps customers drive pioneering research and discoveries by delivering innovative microscopy, spectroscopy and microanalysis solutions, such as world-class scanning and transmission electron microscopes, DualBeam™ FIB-SEMs, and spectrometers, combined with advanced software suites. We span across the business areas of spectroscopy, visualization software, semiconductor, life sciences, and material sciences, as well as global support functions like commercial sales, service, operations, research and development, sophisticated technologies and marketing.

How will you make an impact?
As a Sales Development Specialist, you will support the growth of the Electron Microscopy business within the Materials and Structural Analysis Division, driving market activity through identifying and nurturing prospects. Intellectual curiosity and passion will provide the opportunity to grow within team, both regionally and globally, as well as across the Thermo Fisher organization.
What you will do:
- Drive sales development activities in life sciences electron microscopy for the EMEA region.
- Use strategy and data driven approaches to identify research segments who are not existing customers.
- Engage and nurture relationships with researchers to build opportunities.
- Connect with current and potential customers on new technology and capabilities through a variety of mediums including events, webinars and other outreach.
- Explain with confidence, credibility and clarity how our solutions meet research needs of our customers.
- Perform quarterly pipeline reviews with account managers, ensuring we are accurately capturing our opportunities.
- Lead specific campaign rollouts, working with partners across the organization to deliver.
- Organize workshops and site visits targeting new customers.
- Analyze market trends, customer requirements, and competitive strategy, and find opportunities for increasing customer and business value through product positioning and differentiation.
- Maintain relationships with key customers and work to develop them into reference customers to support sales.
- Work closely with the sales organization to capture business by providing unique sales strategies & value propositions, especially with high value and complex deals
- Provide timely feedback product marketing management about market trends.
How you will get here
Education
- Master”s degree in life or material sciences required /PhD preferred.
Experience
- Highly developed skills building customer relationships to gain access to new prospects and generate traction at various levels within an organization.
- Outstanding written/oral communication skills, interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively interact with customers at varying seniority and technical product knowledge.
- Consistent record in developing deep customer relationships and credibility to gain insight into customers’ requirements.
- Identifying creative and innovative solutions
- Track record in delivering results against target.
- Good level of commercial understanding.
- Demonstrates solution expertise and focus on value creation.
- Champions an accountable environment within the company, modelling the company 4i values.
- Technical background and experience using SEM or FIB-SEM instruments and/or volume electron microscopy techniques is highly desirable.
- Technical background and experience with TEM, cryoEM, or other structural biology techniques is desirable.

- Ability to increase our market share by generating new business leads

- Confidence working with numerical data.
- Collaborate with, and nurture positive relationships with, multi-national and cross-functional matrix teams
- Work remotely, to flexible patterns, and with the ability to travel up to 50%
- Ability to communicate fluently in French is highly desirable, but not required
