We’re looking for someone to join our team as a Supervisor, Pre-Services who:

Oversees all functions within pre-services department ensuring all scheduled appointments are pre-registered prior to date of service. Provides technical leadership while performing escalated or complex duties. Monitors department efficiencies and assumes responsibility for meeting departmental goals. Implements plans for improvement when needed. Maintains policies and procedures. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervises activities of the pre-registration department to ensure processes are completed timely and accurately for all future scheduled services. Provides guidance to pre-registration teams to ensure required authorization, pre-certification and referrals for all encounters are obtained prior to date of service. Oversees and monitors processes for efficient collection of demographic and financial patient information in registration solution. Navigates and interprets insurance websites to understand patient insurance benefits or coverage. Communicates with staff and medical personnel to address patient concerns or issues related to verifications of encounters. Assesses pre-registration issues or situations and resolves or escalates to leadership as appropriate.
  • Coaches and directs staff-level associates to ensure compliance with department policies and procedures. Builds long-term customer relationships, fostering trust and respect by consistently meeting or exceeding expectations. Provides input and recommendations regarding staffing, report reconciliation and quality assurance (QA) processes.
  • Conducts performance reviews and provides input on direct reports for human resource decisions such as hiring, promotions and disciplinary actions. Participates in the development of employees. Delegates the work appropriately, provides clear expectations and follows up to ensure progress and overcome roadblocks. Identifies associates and team priorities based on business direction and adjusts when needed.
  • Leads by example and shares knowledge and experiences with associates and team. Models a respectful work environment, creates accountability and recognizes accomplishments. Provides timely feedback to encourage success and connects opportunities for associates’ development. Identifies top talent to achieve the desired results. Promotes and builds a diverse yet cohesive team to accomplish objectives and aligns associates’ skills to fill gaps.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

You’ll be successful with the following qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Master’s Degree: Preferred

Work Experience:

  • Five years medical practice or healthcare call center work experience: Preferred
  • Medical terminology experience: Preferred

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) – National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM): Preferred
  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) – Healthcare Financial Management Association: Preferred
