Workday Integration Engineer

As our Workday Integration Engineer, you will participate in the development and enhancements of our HCM Core Services which include but are not limited to: Payroll, Talent Management, Compensation, Onboarding, Recruiting, Absence Management and Benefits. Your expertise in Workday Studio, Report Design, Integration Support and Development will be fully utilized.

In addition to day-to-day development tasks, testing and test automation, and review, we are also taking on larger initiatives on the Workday team. We will be adding integrations and functionality as we continue to migrate legacy data and functionality into our Workday environment. The position will work with our core development team housed in our Coppell TX Office.

Please Note: This position is 100% remote; however, you must reside within driving distance of our offices in Coppell, TX to attend monthly onsite collaboration sessions two days per month.

What You’ll Do

  • Every day you will be working on your sprint stories. We work in 2-week sprints using Agile framework. Most days are development days. You’ll be utilizing Workday Studio for complex integrations and Report Designer and Data Analytics.
  • Your development story for each sprint may include new development from prioritized initiative, enhancements from our backlog, and/or high priority production support items and technical debt.
  • All of our developers also support testing stories by designing, executing and automating test scripts.
  • You will also make presentations to other developers during our code review sessions. Depending on the complexity of the tasks reviewed, this can be as few as 2 teammates or the whole team of 7 developers on a dev forum. You will also present stories you’ve worked on during sprint reviews including the development team as well as product owners and other stakeholders. You may also present at these meetings to executive staff.

What You’ll Need

  • To thrive in this role, you should have experience in a production environment. You know you’ll sometimes be on call. You’ll triage any tickets that come in, troubleshoot, fix bugs, and review logs to get to the root cause of any issues.
  • You have worked previously with an Agile team or understand these concepts. You can expect to participate in daily standup meetings, you’ll complete your projects or stories during our sprints, and you’re ready to meet frequent deployment deadlines.
  • Prior experience with Workday Integration is excellent, particularly if you’ve worked with Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Pension and Data Analytics.
  • You have experience with Workday Studio, Power Shell Scripting or other widely used automation tools and API development in Mulesoft.
  • Integration with different web services is a key component of this role, so your understanding of Postman, simple object access protocol (SOAP), and representational state transfer (REST) will be helpful.
  • Experience with regression test automation best practices.
  • Evaluate new testing technologies for implementation to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Hands On Experience in working with industry standard testing tools like Selenium, JMeter, Postman, SOAPUI, Jenkins and similar.
  • You’re comfortable speaking and presenting in front of people. You are able to convey complex technical concepts to others who may be less tech-savvy than you.
